Presented by Dr. Marcia Sloan Latta - Vice President for University Advancement, University of Findlay - profile

Dr. Marcia Sloan LattaIt all begins with the board. At the core of any successful nonprofit’s governance and fundraising efforts is its board of directors. But to build and maintain an ideal board takes time, strategy, and effort. The optimal board member has wisdom, connections, wealth ... and a willingness to share all three. How do you find, recruit, and engage such individuals? How do you emphasize the importance of fundraising when recruiting and engaging board members? And how does a board go about determining its own effectiveness?  This session will touch on all of these important topics.

starBe sure to bring your President/Executive Director and your Board Chair so that together you can build a high-performing board that will maximize your organization's fundraising effectiveness.

Swank McLaughlinWe often hear about the $1 million donor that came out of nowhere to help support a nonprofit organization. But veteran fundraisers and prospect researchers know that these stories are the exception to the rule. In truth, it takes the right data, information, modeling, and research to find and connect with transformative donors.

Join Katherine Swank, Senior Consultant with Target Analytics, and Steve MacLaughlin, Vice President of Data & Analytics with Blackbaud, to explore how real world prospecting and development works.
