Presented by Tom Ahern - New York Times called Tom Ahern "one of the country’s most sought-after creators of fund-raising messages."

Tom AhernMany common assumptions about donors are just plain wrong, hence charities shipwreck financially and fail to grow. Get it right from the start, with this "truth stampede."

World-sourced from top experts by Tom Ahern, you'll learn what are acceptable response rates for direct mail appeals and donor newsletters. You'll learn why you should hang your entire fundraising program off just one metric, Lifetime Value (LTV). You'll learn why monthly donors are preferable to annual donors. You'll learn why bequest donors are (usually) preferable to major donors.

BE the CAUSE

BE the CAUSE Campaign
A chance to invest in yourself, your chapter, your profession

Be the Cause supports the AFP Foundation, which in turn provides:

  • One Chamberlain Scholarship annually to your chapter that covers the registration fees (~ $800) to AFP’s International Conference – chapter members can apply here [provide link].  Our chapter in addition provides a $500 grant to the awardee to help defray travel expenses.
  • Other professional development opportunities for members;
  • A grant back to your chapter based on the total amount of funds you and your chapter’s members raise;
  • Support for research in your field; and
  • Scholarships and other programs to expand current diversity and inclusion efforts.

This year we have a unique opportunity.  In addition to keeping $375 if we raise $1,500, we will be able to keep any money raised by the chapter above $1,500.  So if we raise $2,000 we get $375 plus keep $500 for a total of $875!!!

Why is this important?  We plan to use this money in 2019 to provide better benefits to retain current members and underwrite efforts to recruit new members.

Now, you have the opportunity to impact our local AFP chapter by making a meaningful gift  to the Be the Cause campaign. Whether you give $10 or $10,000, every gift leads to the success of our chapter and our profession.

As of June, 100% of our Board members had contributed.  Please join us!

If you have already given, thank you so much!
