The AFPNWO Chapter accepts credit card payments only, and all payments must be received in advance. If you do not pay by the registration deadline, you will be charged the additional $5.00 late fee. If you make a reservation, you are responsible for the fee even if you do not attend. Cancellations must be received by the posted reservation deadline to be eligible for a refund or non-payment.

careerIn this session panelists will address managing up, down and sideways in a fundraising operation.

If you manage fundraisers, you will find some tips for getting the best results. If you are a fundraiser eager to move into management of staff, you will get a feel of the day-to-day tasks of managers and how they balance their own fundraising goals against managing the goals of others.

We will also address managing up—what happens when you need to work with your manager, an executive or someone in another department for a fundraising project.

 

About the Speakers

Dasa DzierwaaDasa Dzierwa - Associate Vice President, ProMedica Foundation

Dasa serves the ProMedica Foundations as Associate Vice President and leads a team of seven Executive Directors raising funds for 13 hospital/post-acute care Foundations within ProMedica— a mission-driven, nonprofit, nationally distinguished healthcare system serving communities in 30 states. She has combined experience in fundraising, sales & marketing and education.

Dan StongDan Stong, CFRE - Executive Director, ProMedica Toledo and Toledo Children’s Hospitals

Dan oversees foundation activity for Toledo Hospital and Toledo Children’s Hospital. Previously, he served as Senior Director of Development for the University of Toledo’s College of Business and Innovation and as a Major Gift Officer for UT Athletics.

Kris ThiesenKris Theisen - Senior Director of Development for the College of Engineering, Wayne State University

Kris is the Senior Director of Philanthropy and Alumni Affairs for the Wayne State University College of Engineering and directs all philanthropic and alumni efforts for the College. Kris and her staff are responsible for an alumni base of 27,000 globally as well as individual and corporate relationships for the College.

Since 2009, Jenny Goldberg has managed almost 40 capital campaigns and feasibility studies, raising more than $60 million for clients of Aly Sterling Philanthropy. Additionally, she has helped dozens of clients launch sustainable fundraising systems and hire the right fundraising professional.
